The film was created following the essay “Noble Life vs. Mass Life” by José Ortega y Gasset, written in the early 20th century.

The text deals with questions of culture, society, and personal responsibility in the modern age. Ortega distinguishes between two modes of human existence and describes how the “mass man” does not see a need to justify his existence through action, creation, or self-criticism, but instead demands his rights simply by virtue of being part of the majority. Created as part of the Laboratory course, guided by Yael Burstien.
